OK, as much as I love fluorocarbon, I must admit that it just doesn't cast well on spinning reels. I need to find a line that is sensitive and thin for use with the shaky-head and drop-shot. Any recommendations?

Triline XL 8lb for bass. I tried a bunch and XL was about the best all around. I do have some 4lb P-Line fluoro on my bluegill rod. Not too bad.

I use the Excel from BPS, 8 pound test. Its inexpensive and I havent had any problems with it that I havent had with any other line.

I haven't switched over on my spinning rods, and all that I have used for the last 2-3 years is Big Game. Right now, one my only spinning outfit for bass, I have 10 lbs. on there. It served me well for a few bass earlier this year, and for the crappies my Mom caught using it 2 weekends ago.

May not be the most sensitive stuff out there, but the times that I have fished a drop-shot on this rig, I have felt every bite. emoThumbsup

I like P-Line CX Premium for spinning reels. Ultra low memory and very sensitive.

I only use pline pure fluorocarbon on my finesse spinning rods but recently i got a spool of pline evolution to try out on one of them for some finesse stuff like shakey heads and dropshotting. So far its real good line. Sensitive and strong. I'm using the 8lb evolution. I won't be replacing my pline pure fluoro for it but its not bad if you don't like using pure fluoro. The halo is great also but i've only got it on some baitcasters and its pretty pricey. The evolution is not too pricey.

Andrew, I came real close today to buying a filler spool of the Evolution. I was going to put it on my 7 ft. casting rod, but I might give it a try on the spinning outfit.

Thanks for the input.

Im gonna 2nd the Excel. Last week when we fished Riverpark , Several time we snagged up and drug in some whopper limbs. Not just branches but more like logs. That stuff is tuff! i have tried almost everything and keep going back. Good price too. Pick up a small spool Jason and try it out.

We all know when you say "we" you are really meaning taking about yourself. emoPoke

I second this post from MrWiskers....after spooling tie it off to something and stretch it good. that takes the memory out of it and it works real good....FA

SUFFIX ELITE.....12# ....EXTREMELY TUFF AND SENSITIVE...AND IT IS FLOURESCENT FOR NITE FISHING.....AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS I KEEP A GIANT SPOOL OF 10# XL......SOME OF THE BEST SPINNING LINE I LOVE FOR SMALL CRANKS (3/8) IS IRONSILK IN 10# GREEN....I BELIEVE SOMEBODY SAID THEY QUIT MAKING IT...I `VE BEEN USING SOME OFF THE SAME SPOOL NOW FOR 2-3 YEARS....DOESN`T SEEM TO TWIST UP AT ALL...

I like excel from Bass Pro. I use it in 4lbs on my ultralite and caught a few 5lbs bass with it in FL. I also use the 8lbs test on my bass poles. I have also used it for saltwater.
I did just use Cajun Red for the first time this weekend and the kid caught a tree. I must say this line was pretty strong.

I use P-Line and Seaguar, I only use Fl-Carbon line w/ Spinning Reels..... I agree w/ Fat Albert & MrWiskers about spooling then stretching.

I just love Silver Thread. When I can find it, I stock up. It does everything right. I think I am alone in that choice.

I agree Silver thread is some great line but it must be diccontinued because very few people carry it. Leesburg Citgo in Leesburg,AL had it buy one get one free for a while and I bought up the 4 # but that was last year and I have not seen anywhere since.
