I'm thinking about camping on the Nick for a week either last of march or first of april. Which campground would be the best to tent camp? I like Marion Co. area but I need somewhere I can leave my camping equip. while Im fishing and it be there when I get back.Would like to go to Chick also but dont know anything about that lake but I will learn it someday.

I don't know about nick but for the chick you could camp at chester frost, they have primitive and non primitive camp sites. And good fishing in the nearby area. Possibly booker t state park but I am not familiar with that area

Booker T does not allow camping. The HBSP has a good tent camp area but right now it is still closed for the winter. I am not sure when it opens back up. They have showers and bathrooms at the one at HBSP. They are kept up nicely. emoThumbsup Jmax

The tent area at Harrison Bay can get a little rowdy. I would always pay a little more and just take a camper site. You have you own water and power if you want to use it. It cost a little more but worth it. I never had any problems leaving my stuff and leaving. One year a big storm came through. We left for dinner and shelter till it passed. When we got back we found the storm had destroyed our tent and people camping around us had gathered all our stuff for us. It is a good camppground.

...you have a great place all to youeself at N'jack if you haul everything in your boat out to the islands below the I 24 bridge or welcome center. Everything else to too close and crowded. They pack Marion / Co. in like sardines, 10 / 12 ft. between you and others!

Grasshopper has camp/camper sites as well. It is in north Hamilton County on the eastern side at Birchwood mile marker 494. I think you can beach boats there You can certainly tie them up to shore as it is in a protected cove off the main channel.
