Okay since I've kinda got the tourney fishing bug I am at a delimma. The boat that I have is fine for me...it's an older hull though and is over rated on horse power. It's a 20' Vision but it has a 200 Evinrude on the back. I think it is just rated for a 150 or 175 (can't remember off the top of my head).

I'd like to have a smaller boat...say an 18-19 foot model but in a newer hull design with a motor that matches the horsepower rating.

No way on earth I can afford a new one or even one of the 2000s models. So I'm wondering if you guys know of a place around the Southeast TN area that has decent deals on used boats that will shoot straight with a man. I don't want to buy someone else's problem that they traded in for a new boat. LOL. Ain't nothing wrong with my boat itself other than some of these tourneys don't allow over rated boats to play in the game. I would kinda like to find a place that would take my boat in on a trade but that might be hard to do...most dealers probably don't want to do trades on their already traded boats. But in case you guys know of one I'd sure like to know about them.

Or do you guys think I would be better off listing my boat for sale and getting what I could out of it then going out and looking for a different boat??

hey if you find a newer hull you want thats raited for your motor , i would be intrested in your old hull , that would be a good deal for me and you , i have a smaller motor , but i need a newer hull
thanks

You wanna leave that 20 foot boat for a shorter one? May I ask why

I have had a 20 footer with a 150 hp, then a 16 foot aluminum express, now i have a 2007 Stratos 176XT with a 50 hp Yammy and absolutely love it. Very little gas, less maintence, and I bet it has more storage and I know for a fact is has a larger rod locker than most. Check one out I think you will find it a better deal than a older used one.

most places will trade with you but you won't get what it is worth. you are better off selling outright then buying a used boat.

There is a place on the other side of nashville called C and O marine. They probably have 100 boats on site and they work on a smaller margin than anybody in Chatt area. Go to www.candomarine.com and you can see what they have. They are well worth the drive. By the way I can't believe a 20 ft vision isn't rated for at least a 200. Those things are heavy!! That boat would be horrible with a smaller motor.

I only bought this boat because I got it for such a good deal...or so I thought anyway. I was really at the time looking for a 16 or 17 foot aluminum boat then this fiberglass 20' fell in my lap and I couldn't turn it down.

The 200 HP motor is nice and the extra room is too but that is a problem all in itself. That 200 HP drinks gas...even when not running it wide open and I fish by myself a lot of times and 20' boats aren't the easiest things in the world for one person to maneuver. Plus I figured I'd come out cheaper by going to a smaller hulled boat.

Dont get confused here. Extra horsepower does not mean extra fuel consumption. That boat would get worse gas mileage if it had a 150 on it because it would have to labor so much harder to push it. I bet that boat could easily handle a 250 hp if the transom is strong enough. Visions are just heavy boats. Email Todd at C and O and tell him Lance Nunley sent you.

Yea..tell him Lance sent ya and get ready to get it bad

Kidding Lance...You back state side yet? Any pics?</p>

I had a 91 model 20 foot vision with a Evin. 200 XP. Seems like the actual HP rating was 235. Those old carbed motors are terrible on gas, probably get less than 3 mpg.
