taking old numbers off and putting new ones on this week.. what is the best thing to get all the old sticker residue off.. i have heard soft and scrub.. any one got any good ideas?

Goof..... It takes off sticker residue pretty good and the new stuff smells pretty good!!!!! See ya later this week!!!!!! Got the block sleeved, decked, bored, and 1 honed. I have to go get a gasket tomorrow so I can get the V-6 merc back on the bullet and get yours on the stand so I can work on it. I have some glue lines to cut out. More power!!!!!!! LOL!!!

WD-40 does work quite well. You also have to be careful witha heat gun. You can blister the gel-coat. I use a pinstripe remover and then use goof as there is very little residue. ALOT safer. Just my thoughts....

JDK, go to a paint and body shop store. 3m Makes a adhesive remover that comes in a metal can. It also comes in a spray. It wont hurt the paint or anything like that. They use it to take off the residue under pin stripes and moldings and decals. Ive used it on a racecar to take off rubber out of the inner fenders and exterior fenders of the car. Works great.

Old man BUD, that makes the boat decals in Dallas Bay area, told me years ago to use 1/2 & 1/2 gas & oil mix and a soft rag..... it worked ! I wonder, does anyone know if Bud is still living? I think his last name was Lentz, or something close to that. He started making boat numbers after he retired from Combustion.
