BFHP Guntersville Rally 2006

Pointer talked me into fishing Bass Fishing Home Page's Rally down at the Big G last weekend.. Fellows Im a telling you you will have a great time..I love the morning-afternoon session format with the different partners..The food is great . the door prizes were top notch and drawing my freind Pointer for the saturday morning was worth it all. We went to south sauty that morning and I was fortunate to get a limit off of a buzzbait and a crankbait...Saturdays afternoon session I fished with Jim Martin from Mars Hill NC.. great guy to fish with and we tried the rat bite up around chisnell springs and roseberry, but the wind was just too much for us.. neither of us had a keeper. Sunday morning I drew Jim Johns from Kansas who is thinking about moving down this way.. we fished down toward sauty and up around goose pond, the best we could do was a few small ones.. I think the winner had about 30 lbs. and I seen quite a few nice fish...if your interested in next year talk to Pointer and he can give you a better scoop on things...just dont let him badmouth your net... thanks Jerry

Michael.....Glad I could put you on some fish initially. The mats we fished weren't producing. Caught my keepers on a Baby Brush Hog and a 10" Gambler red bug worm in 4-8 ft of water. Here's a picture of some of Sandskeeter's fish.

Hey sand skeeter! Did you win anything for your fish? I also fished South Sauty had only caught 1 keeper. Glad you had a good time and nice fish. What was the weigh?

How has SS been to you this year? I haven't caught nearly as many fish there this year as I had in the past? You seeing any of that same pattern??

If you go to bass fishing home page and click on the rally link ,then clink on guntersville rally and then click on the 2005 results you can see how everyone did.. i think i was 11th with almost 8 lbs.. I probably wouldnt have had those fish if Pointer hadnt been showing me the way...

That does sound like a unique and fun format. Maybe we should try that one for one of our tournaments.
