Put in a long, hard day on Chickamauga with Rick Dutton from Soddy Daisy and his sons, Corey and Ryan. They're troopers... this mid-winter catfish bite is tough. We missed four finicky fish in about 3 hours early and then relocated. First drift in the new location (Fishing Machine can tell you where it was emoBigsmile) Rick tagged the fish that saved the day. 43 inches long, 42 pounds! emoParty It was the biggest fish of Rick's life, including saltwater. That sure took some pressure off the guide... who up until then had been emoBawl'ing. A little pressure remained however because Corey is from Montana and he wanted some Tennessee River catfish for dinner on New Year's Day... I guess they would go good with black-eyed peas emoHungry. Obviously the 42 lber. went back to fight again another day. They toughed it out long enough for Corey and Ryan to each tag fish in that 8-10 lb. class. ... so, as we said, they got two for the table and one for the wall (a picture and a TARP Certificate anyway)!

Richard, Were you guys in your G3? I saw some guys out by H. bluff but I didn't think it was you, or I'd said howd. Anyho good looking fish. We fished Gary Huges dogfight today & I had one Lm at 3.58lbs. & my partner got a 14inch. spaaat. & that was it for keepers. We got three or four small spots on a green grub & thats about all. It took over 18Lbs to win with17-18 boats. Man 18 lbs. If you can catch 18Lbs. of bass on the Chick. with todays bite & cond. You can make it out on the FLW tour. I got to get me some brush piles out & a GPS. Maby go back to catfishing, it's cheaper. & you catch biger fish.emoDoh .

Yes, that was me. But The Bluff wasn't very good to us today. That is finally where we tagged the two "eatin'" fish in the afternoon when the flow picked up a little bit. But the morning fish just wouldn't "hang on." I watched bass boats come on and off The Bluff all day long. Whatever bass were there saw a lot of lures. And yes, you're right... 18 lbs. is amazing! Who done it?

I didn't catch his name, as far as that goes I didn't catch much all day longemoLaugh emoLaugh But more than one guy had over 13-14lbs. We were in the small 161/2ft. blue & white bass boat that went over on the flat. By the way nota biteemoBawl I waved at ya'll & some one waved back, thats getting more & more rare( some one waveing hello on the water). Boy how times have changed. I rember when I would go with my father out on the lake, (30-35 years ago). Seemed like everybody waved at each other & smiled, sure do miss those days. Oh well, now I know whatc'a look like I'll stop over & tell ya a tall one next time emoThumbsup emoToast .
