TNDOE270 and I fish the 2 day big bass clash. The water temp ranged from 78 in the morning to 82.9 in the afternoon. We had alot of success catching fish in the wind, but could only manage to catch bass from 2.2 to 2.9 on Saturday. The wind was gusting from 5 to 20 mph from around 10am and remained with us the rest of the day. We caught a total of 16 keepers Saturday using crank baits, jigs, worms, and spinner bait.
Sunday morning the water temp was a little cooler 76.9 and rised to 73 degrees after lunch. The wind wasn't a factoras when we started fishing a top water pattern using buzz baits and chug bugs. The top water bite wasn't on and we had to change to crank baits, jigs, worms and spinner baits. AT 6:52 TNDOE hooked into a 5.25 bass which we weighed in during the first hour on SUNDAY. That fish was a money fish and netted TNDOE $400.00. The rest of the day was similar to Saturday. The wind got up around 10am gusting 5 to 20 mph.
Over the 2 days we caugh 34 keeper from a weigh range 2lbs to 3.10, plus the 1 5.25 money fish of TNDOE. I will try to attach picture that I took on SUNDAY. thanks, Swamp Donkey

Good job tndoe and Swamp donkey! Nice pics. Wish we could have got on the fish down there but as luck would have it the topwater bite was over when the sun came up the days we was there. Good job tho and thanks for the report!

fisherpak,
we couldn't get a bite on top water but look out workin the SB tickin the grass and hang on. I have to be honest, that's the first time I have really caught any fish other than TW or a worm.
Try a spinnerbait while the grass is 2-3 ft under the surface. There few and far between but when you do get the bite, it could be the bigun. Good luck next time you go.

Thanks Tndoe. We got a few on SB but most of mine came from a floating worm and crankbait. Glad you done so well and maybe I can learn that lake some day.
