Locked through to the river about 5:30pm. Drifted about 2 hours and couldn't get a bite. Decided to lock back through to the lake and fish a couple of places that I've been catching a few fish on. Put out two rods with cut baite and one with a big bluegills head on. Sat there for about 20 minutes and turned just in time to see the rod in the back of the boat bent double and the drag on the reel singing. Grabbed up the rod and knew I was in for a long fight. ( only had 14 lb. line on this reel and I was by myself ) When I got him to the boat the sixth time ( no net ) I finally got the clamp in his mouth and pulled him in. I had just boated a 60 lb. blue cat who was almost as tired as I was.
Guys, I'm 52 years old, I've been bass fishing for almost 30 years but never have I had such a " RUSH " catching a fish. Post pictures later.

Great job! Great plan too, when something new isn't working, go back to old reliable... and for heavens sake, get some heavier tackle!!!! emoLaugh emoLaugh CONGRATS!!!!emoToast

Wow! 60 lbs! That's awesome... can't wait for pics. I tell everyone that when it comes to fishing gear, size doesn't matter. Patience and fishing-fighting skill are much more important. Just too bad you couldn't have waited for the CAT BATTLE to catch him! But hoepfuly there's another one waiting. emoCool

Here is Fishing Machine's Big Cat!!! Congrats... I love the blue fins..

Wow!!!! Now that's a good fish FM. I got part of a PM from you but I don't think that you need any help from me in finding fish. I however could always use info about fish like that. Keep the line tight! Wow.

He never catches those when I'm with him. That fish makes those bird legs and girl feet look even tinyer.

By the way, I was instructed to tell everyone dad caught that fish by bumping a 2-day old fish taco from MoJo Burritos through grass in 3 feet of water in a golf course pond. Nevermind how we get that pontoon on No. 15 at Eagle Bluff.

See yall Sunday.

WOW!!! Great fish. emoThumbsup . Sounds like the catbattle crowd may flock to the lakeside of the dam.

That is a great fish. I definitely need to put some new line on before I go and fish at the lake again. That big blue would rip right through the old line I have on my rods right now.

Nice job!
