Big cat to start off the New Year 1/6/2007

Fished with my brother in law today...He's a member on the forum... monsterhat99 I thinkemoScratch ... He has fished with me several times and it always seems the big fish elude his hooks. I wanted to try to get him a trophy sized cat today( if I didnt I think my wife was gonna skin me )emoConfused !! So we got out there about 9:30 am today and fished ALL DAY LONG without a solitary bite. I fished from Harrison bluffs up to skull Island and everywhere in between. Finally around 4:30 pm he landed this big 48.2 lb Blue. His personal best by about 32 lbs!!!!! I think he had a good time and I know I did. The bite is VERY slow this time of year for me. Its either HERO or ZERO.. We were just about 30 minutes from a Zero today but this BIG BLUE pulled us through. Way to go Monsterhat!!!emoToast emoToast emoToast

way to go troy! that is a nice blue! his whiskers are bigger than the bass I cought today. how long did it take to get that it to the boat? I bet you crossed his eys when you heaved back on that rod.good way to start the year .emoWorthy emoWorthy emoToast emoToast emoHungry emoHungry

Just figure that if you'd been crappie fishing you would have had to catch about SIXTY fish to equal that one! emoLaugh Good job! I know it's hard hanging in there hour after hour wondering if that "big bite" will come?

It is sometimes difficult to set there and wait on the big bite....but when it comes its worth every minute of it. Ive been taking some reading material to keep me occupied ( In Fisherman magazines work good emoSmile ). But even if you dont get a bite it beats sitting at the house or even worse....WORKemoDoh
