I went out for a bit today to see if raising my motor helped and to try out my new GPS (cool). I went to a place that usually holds large amounts of bait and bass this time of year to see if it might be a good place on Saturday. Well, I saw tons of small 1.5 -2" shad, just not a lot after them. I was getting ready to leave when I hear something big busting behind me. Just like the Watts Bar Tx there is a huge bass attacking the heck out of something and he wouldn't give my lures a 2nd look. Got closer and he was pummeling a large 8-9" shad......actually looked more like a shiner, the bass looked to be around 4 lbs. After a couple of minutes he got it. In the same area there appeared to be several wolfpacks of large bass, 4-5 pounders. Of course I am sure that I just jinxed both me and Stump for Saturday but it's good to know that they are keeping the pattern.

DAVO ,WHO CARES ABOUT 4-5LB BASS SCHOOLING AND BUSTING BAIT.THE REAL QUESTION IS HOW DID YOUR BOAT RUN AND HOW ABOUT YOUR GPS??emoLaugh

I care about 4-5lb bass busting bait! That would be a lot of fun! I am looking forward to being out a bunch next week. I sure hope to find big fish like that busting baits. By the way, how did your rig do?

Man, fisherman not caring about fish.................LOL. Anyway, the boat runs fantastic. I still need to raise the engine a bit more but it jumps out of the hole and gets going quick. As far as the GPS, man that thing is really cool. The instruction manual is pretty thick but I can already see how it will change the way I fish. It breaks the contours up a lot more than a topo map and shows things that I never thought were there. I was finding holes and drops that I had driven over time and again without seeing. On the downside, the dash mounted depth finder has quit, I am guessing interference. I'll have to get that fixed but otherwise really cool. I'll post some pics on another thread.

Davo, Have you tried turning the noise rejection up on the dash mounted unit? When i run my flasher and my LMS-337C the Lowrance gets vertical lines in it. If i turn up the rejection they go away. Just a thought

Hey Skeeter, it doesn't have problems with noise, it just reads around 2000 feet deep and won't move. I'm thinking that the new transducer may have been mounted too close to it, but then again I really have no clue.
