Nice fish and thanks for the post! I grew up in Chapel Hill until I was 12 yrs old. We used to go to a pond of one of my Grandfather's old shipmates from the Navy down in Chatham county, east of Chapel Hill, NC. They had the biggest bream and specifically shellcrackers. We caught some 3 and 4 lbs, but never even weighed them for records, just fileted them to eat. Regret some of that now, but we sure had a few honey holes for those suckers. Glad to see a youngin' caught the big catch. He'll probably put down the controller a bit more now.
