I was out last night looking for something different to do for monday night so I rode up the TN from Hiwasse island.I fished some of the grass on the right side of the river around a little island with no luck.I went back down river to hiwasse island
and caught a 14 3/4 largemouth.then I fished a part of Hiwasse they call "deadhorse" which is just upriver from the island and caught a few smaller fish.
I left there and drove back up the river below ledfords island and started throwing a buzzbait on the main river bank.As I was just about to leave I saw a stretch that has been good before so I decided to try it before I went home.Big brushpile in 6-8 feet of water tops of the limbs sticking out with a little "lane" right in the center of it
I throw the buzzbait past it and work it right through the opening and BLAM! 5lb
largemouth blows up on it. Biggest bass I've caught all year.Just wish it was Monday night! I swear those fish know when I'm not in a tournament!

You may not find the same bass on that stick-up, but the odds are that another bass similar in size will be there next time.

Great job with the five lber. Big fish on top are exciting! I need to throw more buzz baits. Which buzz bait do you use? Do you "doctor" it any? A buddy of mine knows how to make them squeek but I can't remember what he does to them.

I think they are stike king, the only thing I do to them is squeeze the blade on the shaft a little tighter to make it squeek. You can sand them down and use some acetone to make them rust and squeek even more but I use the ones with a "clacker"so thats a bit much I think.Color is always gonna be chart. and white!accept at night when I will use black.
You know I never really give much thought to the brand I'm buying, I'm Just looking for features that I want like shaft length, size ,color, blade type, etc.
Some of the custom made ones on the racks in the local shops are really good.
