Bike Lanes in Cleveland

The goal is to get some bike lanes put in to make it safer for folks to commute by bike. I ride to work every day I can and would like to bike to more places around town, but it's just a little too risky.

Trying to ride a bike in Cleveland is a form of suicide. Sooner or later you are going to end up hanging off of someone's mailbox. Heck I don't even like to drive a car in Cleveland. If there was a bike lane some fool on a crotch rocket would think it was a lane for them. But I will sign the petition anyway. Good luck!

hahaha...thanks, Bullet. I go to some trouble to stay on residential roads, but I'd like to feel like I could go east to west - which is where the scary stuff starts happening. I'm guessing if they do bike lanes it'll start north to south (Keith or Ocoee), but hey, it's a start. And thanks for signing despite your knowledge of the Cleveland roadways!

I live on the southern side of Bradley Co. My road has became a biker highway in the last few years. The sport has definitely grown. Be careful out there. Some mornings its foggy and bikes are hard to see.

Agreed. Even when it's light in the morning, I keep my blinking red light going wild on the back of the bike. And biking is indeed picking up. Thinking with bike lanes people will see it as a viable way to get to work and get their exercise all in one fell swoop.

I have to say I live off of tunnel hill rd. In Cleveland and hate the bicycle traffic!!! Trying to get around a heard of grown men wearing tight shorts in the middle of the road is a nightmare!!!

I live on Bigsby creek rd in Cleveland and every day there are about 25 - 30 bikes pass by my house they use this road alot .Also A good friend of mine and use to be neighbor was hit by a car about a month ago in front of the speedway on paul huff .We def need some bike lanes to help out those who ride to keep them from getting hit or hurt .He had minmal injury compared to what it could of been .I took his bike hime while he went to the hospital by ambulance .Only damage to the bike was a warped rear wheel and busted chain gaurd .The car had a busted windshield where he went into it .And rolled over the top the landed in paul huff .To walk away from that was a miraclein it's self.
