I'm one who enjoys watching Bill Dance Outdoors. Yes, I know he films most of his shows on private waters, but I still maintain that he has one of the best educational formats of any of the weekly fishing shows, so I look forward to the new ones which up until today aired on Mondays on NBC Sports (Comcast 448). Today it didn't happen. A check revealed that upcoming episodes, at least on Comcast, appear to be scheduled for a channel previously unknown to me known as Destination America (Comcast channel 466). It is scheduled to air on Wednesdays, back to back with Hank Parker. I guess NBC Sports is trying to make space for more scoccer coverage by dumping the fishing shows emoPoke emoPoke

That's bad news, I haven't been able to find any of the classic fishing shows on Dish either. I was raised on Bill, Hank, Jimmy and Orlando.
It's sorry to lose them to the gay-ass European invasion of soccer! A dumb ass sport where you can't touch the ball with your hands.

I knew it was all down hill when NBC bought Versus. Now you only get good shows when theres not Tennis, Soccer or bike racing on. Not to mention ice hockey.

Yes, it seems to be a complete purge. I see that Jimmy Houston is also gone from NBC Sports, but I found him on Destination America, the same channel as Bill Dance and Hank Parker on Comcast (466). Of course, NBC had already dumped The Bass Pros.

I'm sorry buddy, but I can't go
I'm watching the Orlando Wilson Fishing show!

Yes, those were the days. I wish we could see some of those now.

I really think that this points toward what the fishing industry is worried about.
Today's youth is really targeted and captured by the technoligy industry and the only outdoor sports that they're enticed by are structured school or recreation sports. The ones that Biff and Buffy can drop their kids off at and pick them up at when their practice is over and after their meetings.
I hope the colegate bass tournys aren't too late to get their interest!

+1 on this one. I was devastated when they bought them and saw things changing for the morning fishing shows. One of the worst days in American history.

My father-in-law was crushed...he literally quotes Bill when on the wateremoRolleyes. Fortunately, he has enough episodes DVR'd to last into the next century. As far as NBC Sports go, the channel is just about useless to avid outdoorsmen.

I have Direct tv and my scheduler shows Bill Dance Outdoors to air on NBCS Friday 2/7 at 1:30 & 3:00 pm cst. It should be the same on your network I would think.
I too, think Bill's show provides a lot of educational information on Bass fishing. One thing you don't have to put up with on his show is a bunch of senseless music that you hear on other shows.

I hated it when the Outdoor Channel changed. Why can't they have one devoted to hunting and fishing and leave the other sports to ESPN

Yall do know that soccer was invented so that people that aren't athletic enough for real sports would have something to do during PE...right? I mean in lots of stores the footballs, baseballs, basketballs, softballs are in sporting goods sections. Soccer balls are with the beach balls in toys....LOL emoLaugh emoLaugh

Good one.

That's a shame, I have enjoyed those shows. TV and radio is all about selling the advertising space which is dependent on audience viewing. When viewership drops for a show, the ad space is less valuable and more difficult to sell so other shows are put in the lineup to try and boost it. Unfortunate for us that like the shows, we need more of us to support the shows and the advertisers buying ad space.
