I saw another post related to this but thought some of this article needed to publically posted
The EPA plans to expand the use of E15
This alone would not be problematic however it is what the EPA is planning for 100% gas that is troubling.
According to the article last year 5.3 billion gallons of E0 gas was produced (unaltered or what we call 100% gas)
In 2017 the EPA plans to allow the sale of only 200 million E0 gas or 100% gas.
This is still a proposal!!
However, it will happen unless your Congressman or Senator fail to hear from the boating public.
Public commenting on the reg itself has ended
I can't find out the status of the regulation but even if it has been temporarily delayed it is still important for boaters to voice support for choice based on market demand and not arbitrary regulation
Here are some other facts:
Average Boat motor trailer cost = $38,385 - that is alot of sale tax to states
Total spent on outboard boat sales = $3.8 billion
Every gallon of gas used in boating carries with it taxes used to rebuild and maintain highways.
Every electric vehicle contributes ZERO to the fund to rebuild and maintain highways.
Do the math Congress and support boaters!!
