When we left out there was 21 something leading. Later on we were told 28 something won. emoBang I do believe we were out of our league. When you have pros and guides fishing against you and they are there all the time it seems you are behind the eight ball before you ever start. emoMad Our highlight of the day was PaulJ boated one that was 4 lbs and 15 ozes. (That was on the scale, we called it five.) We took a picture but he has it. Big bass was 6 something last we heard but that probably was beaten after we left. We left before it was over. Unreal the fish that some of them caught on such a bad day. There was also a lot of folks like us. Blast off was delayed two hours becuase of the fog. Could not see fifty yards across the water. We had a lot of practicing of our casting. emoRolleyes Jmax

WAS THIS THE GUNTERSVILLE TOURNAMENT

Yep, it was a Guntersville Tx with first paying out $5,000.00. When it is that kind of money for first and a winter Tx, it will attract some heavy hitters. I also know a couple used guides that week trying to get a better pattern and learn how to get on some good ones. Nothing wrong with that if you have the money to burn. We just could not find a good bite and did not pre-fish like we should have. emoRolleyes Jmax

I think it was actually one of the guides that one the whole thing. Tim Chandler. Apparently the hogs were biting down there this weekend.

t chandler did win with a little over 28lbs.The hawgs are always bitn at the big "G".no matter how bad the conditions are there are always some fish to be caught!

The great bags came from very shallow, in newly flooded areas. We stayed on the main channel all day and main channel ditches, and didn't get a sniff.

Where the results form the guy that advertises it here on CFF? Is it too much to ask that if directors advertise, they report?

I think I have fishing elbow and shoulder. I had to have made 5000 to 6000 casts saturday. I need to buy some stock in ibuprofen liquid gells. Nothing takes away fishing elbow like the liquid gells. The 2 hours game delay took jmax and i off our game. By the time the fog delay was over with our fish had already eaten and went ot bed. Good job to the guys with the 28 lbs.

Here is his report copied from another forum

Last Wednesday thru Friday I took off to practice for the Saturday’s B.I.T.E. tournament, but the weather made us scratch Wednesday & Thursday. Friday I launched down on the lower end of the lake and searched for clear water from Brown’s Creek all the way up to Goosepond. We already knew the jerkbait bite was going to be the deal; we just needed clear water to fish it in. My partner Davey searched from Mud Creek down to BB Comer Bridge and at the end of the day we decided that up river is where we wanted to fish. The morning bite (what was left of it after a two hour fog delay) was steady for us, but around 2:00 pm the big fish decided it was time to eat. In the next hour we landed our 5 biggest fish that weighed 28.56 lbs. with our two best fish going 7.76 lbs and 7.77 lbs. The big fish of the tournament was 8+. We did take top honors in the tournament, and it was an excellent day for us. However, I lost two other big fish that would have given us 30+ lbs. and I keep thinking about losing them. Oh, well that’s fishing. I should have the picture of the fish in a few days when the fine people at B.I.T.E. email it to me. Results can be found soon at www.bitetour.com.

Today (Monday) I had the pleasure of sharing the boat with Randy from Virginia. Randy was here visiting friends in Huntsville and wanted to experience fishing on Lake Guntersville. Most of the jerkbait areas were very muddy today thanks to the extreme winds Sunday. Therefore we tossed Booyah ¾ oz spinnerbaits and jerkbaits to land 13 fish with biggest 5 around 24 lbs. and big fish weighing 7-15. Mr. Randy was impressed with Guntersville and is coming back in June for the topwater bite. I tried to erase the advertising, It may or not be gone.
