i am going hunting for black bear this year and i was wondering if anyone experienced would come with me haha? just let me know by pm thanks!

I don't hunt them anymore ( too old ) but they apparently hunt me. I have never been to the Smoky's without at least one bear sighting ! Maybe you could just take one of my old jackets with you and bait 'em. :)
Do take a friend though... last time I went I took a bad fall and limped my way out of Tellico with luck ( cracked some ribs and badly bruised hip ) Kept that 700 BDL intact though ! :)

Get a guide, and they will give you all the answers your heart desires. You may also have better luck making it home safe. How did you plan to hunt them when you decided you were going? emoScratch

Apparently his old jackets smell bad enought to draw the bears to you !
Another guaranteed method is to pull off the side of the road at one of the picnic tables and start to set up your food. Make sure you have a bunch of toddlers with you. Used to make my Momma absolutely crazy when I was a kid.

All kidding aside , most of the bear hunting around here is done by groups of hard core bear hunters with dogs. Ride around in an old pick up truck till one of the dogs gets a whiff or you spot tracks. Turn the dogs loose and ride around some more trying to listen for them to start a chase. Also a big problem is staying warm in the truck, what with windows down listening for the dogs and all, and you need a little liquid help. Occasionally you have stop on the side of the road and build a fire and try to figure out which way the dogs are running and which one is in the lead. again its hard to stay warm, even with a bonfire. If the dogs should happen to get one cornered or up a tree then you have run thru the woods ( fall, crash and break something) with a flashlight ...and if they do get one up a tree , you get to argue which one of you gets to shoot it. Needless to say this is a clannish bunch of guys. Good luck !

Parts of Cherokee in that area are in the bear preserve. Don't know why they are still doing that. There's lots of bears there just go turkey hunting.. emoApplause
