Is anyone using the Nite III's led black lite ? I went to BPS yesterday to buy one but after looking at it I was concerned about the power of the led's and distance of usable light and decided to wait and find out more. They are so small !

If you're using one I would appreciate hearing what you think about it.

I have two of them and they are bright, but not as bright as a stan sloan flourescent. You have to direct the light to see your line, but once you do that they are plenty bright. I could see my line on the full moon. They also have a very small electric load which is a bonus.

I have the Moonlight LED blacklight (full moon). It's a lot brighter than the flourescent blacklights. I only use one on my 18' boat. It covers front and back fisherman great. I don't know who might carry them in the Chattanooga area, but Mike's Woods & Waters in Manchester and Murfreesboro Outdoors both carry them. They also sell a half moon, not sure how it does.

I too have the Moonlight LED's. Got them at Fishtales in Cleveland. I have one of the full moon's ( 3 black LED's (has its own switch) and 1 clear (has its own switch)) and I have one of the half moon's ( 2 black LED's). They are not as bright as the Sloans as far as seeing fish at the boat for netting but as far as seeing your line they are just as good, IMO. The full moon cost $150 and the half moon cost $100. They are a lot smaller than the Sloans and use less power.

The Atom is only 199.99 and THe Extreme is 249.99 but you only need one light per side. So instead of buying 2 lights 1 will do one side. They are also totally water proof and sealed.
