Do any of you muzzeloading officianados know where a man can obtain some of this brand black powder? I've been doing some reading and I really want to try this stuff in my new Omega. Wonder if Sportsmans carries it?

not familiar with it Churly. I will be over at Grants today in Dalton and I will see if they carry it.

If you see some pick it up and I'll pay ya, Call me if you need to 667-5054.

Coop, I've not put a shot through it yet. After researching it, I have decided to shoot 250gr. shockwaves or hornady sst. with this new powder you have little smoke, stink, and you dont have to clean until your ready, this stuff is supposed to be corosion free. I'll be on the range tomorrow and I'll let you know how she barks.

i like your choice of bullets. let us know how she likes them. i had good accuracy with both pyrodex and 777, terrible with shockeys gold stuff. if the new stuff is all its cracked up to be, i may have to give it a shot one of these days when i can hunt with my mz again.

Churly , I got mine at Sportsman Warehouse . You will love the stuff ! I shot 16 shots in a roll out of my Encore and the more I shot the esier it was to load . Before I could only get 1 shot before cleaning the barrel because of the crud ring the 777 left . Couldn't get the bullet to seat agianst the power . It also shoots great too . The last 5 shots at a 100 you could have covered with a silver dollar . This power is great . But it is costly . Also make sure you use the regular shotshell 209 primers as the muzzleloader primers will not work . Not hot enough .

Sportsmans was out and I had a slammed day today with work so I settled for the Pyrodex pellets I already had. Well, I've never had such a goof of a time sighting one in. First off my buddy mounted my scope and boresighted the gun. He is an absolute mounting genius obviously. I pop the first round off (50 yards). 10 inches low, 1 inch right. So without adjusting I put round 2 through. 12 inches low, 3 inches left. I thought #$%%!!! Looked and my base screws were very loose. Tightened them. So pop 2 more shots and they are level but left 8 inches, so I adjust accordingly. 2 more shots and they scattered all to the left. get to looking, (weaver style rings/mounts) and the two screws that lock on the ring in the front were loose! #@$$%!!!! Tightened them, shoot two rounds and they laid on top of each other. Were talking a sub MOA pattern!!! It was high and right so I adjusted accordingly and three shots later, when I could barely see the target, I was on, could have covered 'em with a quarter. Tomorrow, on my way to the happy hunting grounds, I plan to go back and shoot 100 yards and get her dialed in. I am so impressed with the grouping, even though it was at 50 yards, That gun also loaded and cleaned very easily. I will say it kicked like a donkey, infact I got a knot between my eyes from the scope. I shot 2 50 grain Pyrodex pellets (100 grain) and slung Hornady SST 250 grain sabots, with regular winchester w209 primers. I hope my next post has a picture with some game in it. I'll be back Sunday!

glad its grouping for ya. the first time i shot mine i did 3 shot groups of pyrodex with 90, 100, 110, and 120 grains of loose powder. all 3 charges shot groups that i could cover with my fist at 100 yards. with 110gr being the best. i have gotten a 2" group at 150yards with it, so for a mz i'm very pleased with its accuracy. i have since switched over to 777 and shoot 120gr of that, and man it will push you back a little.

good luck this weekend, make sure your scope stays on!

I applied lock-tite to the loose screws last night. Thats what I get for letting someone else do the grunt work.
