I had the wonderful oppurtunity to have my wife as my hunting buddy today. Decided that we would chase Blacktail deer. Weather was nasty, I mean real nasty 30 and snow blowing all around...just right or so we thought. Walked about 10 miles through some what I call "slow go" terrain, meaning one wrong or bad step and it could turm ugly with a quickness. Triple canopy forrest make it a tough go. Saw very little fresh sign. The wife is pretty good at looking for sign too, and no complaints about 4 thousand meter detour I decided to take only to be met by a straight face cliff of I guess about 200 ft. Didn't see any deer and with the given terrain and conditions it was all good as neither of us seemed to fired up about the idea of dragging 300lbs of dead weight about 4 miles back to the truck... All in all the best day hunting ever .....my wife was there with me.
