Fished the Lake for the first time and it was not easy. The first day we explored alot of water and hit alot of the points. We ended up with 2 smallmouth the first day. Used crankbaits trolled in the 10 foot range to produce the fish. This is a lake that has points all over. We focused on the ones that had wind blowing on them. Water temp was 63F

The second day we did better. We caught 3 smallmouth, 1 whitebass, and 1 spot. These fish were caught off of secondary points. Of those 5 fish, 4 of them were all caught in the same spot that were holding fish.

A beautiful Lake with lots of potential!

Is Blue Ridge full yet? That is a small lake when the water is down. How about walleyes, you didn't report about them but did you see anyone else catching any?

Lake was down about 10 feet. It is a small lake, but some good fishing!

Saw some guys going after walleye. We had one guy give us a 21 incher at the boat launch. We tried one evening with the full moon, and did not get any. We threw white jigs with red heads and did not get bit at all.

I think one of the "hot" baits for walleye in Blue Ridge Lake is a minnow tipped hair jig. I've never fished it but have spent a lot of time in the area working and hunting and trout fishing. I say every year I'm going to go but somehow don't make it.

I fish for sauger with a jig tipped with a minnow. Should have used that and might have persuaded one to hit the jig. Will have to try that next time.
