Anyone fish Blue Ridge Lake ever? I am heading there next week and want to give it a try. I have heard there are big smallmouth, white-bass, and walleye in there. Any tips on what to use, where to go, or any general info on the area?

Jerdog, Blue Ridge is a small very clear lake. The lake holds some really nice small mouth and actually is the last mtn. lake in GA. to hold a claim to smallies. Most of the other lakes was wiped out by the spots and blueback herring.

Blue Ridge is a small lake and is just a little over a mile wide at the widest point. It is approx. 9 miles long and has a few shallow spots but all of them are marked real well. ( Most are out of the water right now.) The lake is down about 10' and on the rise.

Anyway, this is a good time of year for Blue Ridge lake. Right now the water temps are just getting into the 50's and things are a little slow. I would reccomend using crank baits like the shad rap #5 in Tn shad or perch color or the craw color either one. Jigs and grubs work fairly well up there too.

I would probably put in at the Lakewood ramp and fish the lower end of the lake as it wil be warmer this time of year. If you go out from Lakewood ramp you can turn right and go to the dam. The bluffs on the far bank are a good bet as well as going up into Star Creek. Just one note to you tho, if you go above the big island stay to the right side as it is deeper than the left side and take your time. There are numerous rocky points and walls all thru the lake and it is a lot of fun. I would try a couple of the fish attractor spots on there too. I will try to put the link in later.. Good luck!

The white bass are great if you can catch them in the jumps. I usually throw a sppon or a jig into the jumps or a white rooster tail spinner also works well.

The walleyes are doing fair and they can be caught with spoons or night crawlers in the spring. I would go up the lake into the river for them. Hope this helps..

This is great information. I am printing this off and going to give it a go. I will post a report when I get back. I have done lots of research on it and now have a good feel for the lake. I will get a map when I get there and further pinpoint some loactions. Thanks so much for your time and effort. I hope to do well.
