I don’t get a chance to fish much anymore but I went out this morning. Totally sucked. Started up around the bridge on possum creek. Marked bait and what I thought were bass. Nothing. Fished the bank and blow downs around there. Nothing. Ran to the mouth of the creek and found a lot of bait. No bass for me. Ran over to a slough on the other side. Nothing. Bounced in and out of creeks and sloughs all the way back to HBSP. Not even a bite.<div>
</div><div>Is anyone catching anything? One spot I went to had someone on it so i stopped below it a ways. Saw them catch a couple on that spot but that was all the catching i saw.</div><div>
</div><div>Not asking for anyone’s secret spot but wondering what are the baits people are catching fish with now and how deep?</div><div></div><div>Just looking for a head start I guess.</div><div>

Greg, I fished 6 hours today caught 3 good ones that went 12.5 and lost one, all fish were caught around scattered grass in 3-4 ft in coves on shad colored trap and red craw shallow crank bait, all bit when ripping out of grass, hope this helps.

Greg! Whats keeping you away from fishing?? I haven't been much either since I busted my transom. We had just under 20lbs two weeks ago for 5 fish and culled 7 over 3lbs. Current is KING here and you have to remember that this time of year! The rig, cranks, blade baits, silent cranks, and traps were working for us. We were catching them in 2-5ft like always. I've realized, these Floridas love being shallow All year.

I've been in Nashville the last week and been fishing Percy priest. I'm starting to hate this lake. It's so tuff for us here and I can't wait till Sunday to get back to my favorite lake in the country! Yell at me sometime and we can try and break down that end of the lake for yah!

I didn't do much good either. only caught a couple in shallow water on chartreuse sexy shad lipless crank. Sounds like we were in some of the same areas based on your description. Maybe it gets better....see ya on the water.....Jim

Area specific I guess. I had a 4.55 in the Frostbite on a jerk in 3 FOW. and then only 1 shorty and 2 strikes the rest of the day. I stayed real shallow and bombed out. but someone I talked to had over 14# in 3 FOW or less! . Even tho the water is low to mid 50's, Bass metabolism and feeding is way down. We've been on a warming trend and with yesterday's sun, they were fairly active for a winter day but I never got into them. I've had 100's of countless days without any fish between Dec and late Mar in my 5 yrs here. Don't feel bad. Most guys are bombing out and we only see the cream that rises to the top. Also, there's 100's of boats out there when the weather is nice. I couldn't hardly get on an open spot Sat. Countless boats running around all day like a mid-April TX, lol.At one point yesterday, I spent about 1 1/2hr in a large popular slough and counted 8 boats there. 5 left and about 5 came in, most banging the same spots. My better judgement tells me to wait till the water gets back over 65 but sometimes I've just got to get out feed the addiction.
