Tried to get some bream and shellcrackers at my fishing hole Sat morn, but couldn't get any thing to hit my crickets or twisters. So I decided to try red worms and right off tthe bat I hooked into this monster catfish. I could not weigh it, but I think it would go 20 lbs. I was using 4 lb test and set the drag loose and faught that fish for 30 min before I could get him in my net. I am not much of a catfish eater but I gave him to some guys who were happy to get him. May be the bream will come back by next week.

Well done, way to play the fish out. If you have your drag set right, and pleanty of line you can handle any fish in the water. That might be a world record? Anyone got the stats on a cat with 4lb test?

Sorry. You've got a long way to go. IGFA 4# Line Class record for a blue cat is 47 lbs., 9 ozs. For a channel cat it's 34 lbs., 8 ozs. BTW, Polo-dog is after the 2# Line Class Record for a flathead. Current record on 2# line is 33 lbs. even. Go Polo-dog!

I may throw some this summer for them if I can get on some big ones but early winter is when I know just where they are. Ya just never know though.
