Ran up past Possum Creek and found a slew that had a ton of bait fish activity.. First threw worm at the shore and blow downs but only a few little bites, probably small fish. All the sudden the feeding frenzy is on and the water in the center of the slew just erupts.. Told my buddy to get a crank bait in there and something would hit it.. I got one in and after just a couple of turns on the reel I get one about 2lbs... darn thing had both trebles in it so by the time I got back in the water with the bait everything had calmed down.. We worked around where the fish had just been with no luck. Threw several different types of cranks and nothing.. So we started working towards the back of the slew from where all the action had been and found them.. Sitting in about 6 feet of water with some grass on the bottom.. They hit cranks deep and shallow.. Had a blast caught about 20 or more.. Tried a spinner and whopper plopper when it got later in the afternoon but no luck on them.. had 8 keepers and many that were really close and just a few that were not even 12".. All in all had a great day.. My buddy hasnt fished since he was here back in April of 2011.. It was good to see him having fun.. Water was pretty clear and 90 degrees.. I know I am heading back there again this week!!
