I am considering my first "freshwater fishing boat" and these basic questions arise which I would gretly appreciate help in answering: 1) Is there a BASIC motor (horsepower / prop. combined) formula for figureing out speed (excluding water factors {current/temperature/wind resistance/etc...})?, 2) (similar to question #1) What is a REASONABLE (and I guess maximum and/or optimal) speed one should/could expect from a freshwater fishing boat?, and lastly 3) Which is best for the basic fishing boat - aluminum or fiberglass or some other material I probably don't know about?
