I need to get some insurance coverage for the boat I bought a few weeks ago. My auto insurance carrier doesn't cover boats any longer so I need to find a good company with reasonable rates. Anyone got any recommendations?
I've got mine with Travelers. I've even got a $10k rider on the policy to cover tackle. Call Christie McArthur at 892-1515, I work with her and she's great.
Progressive.
Check it out.
Very competitive in rates.
If after 4 years you do not have any claims, your deductable is $0.
Each year you do not have a claim, your deductable is reduced by 25 %.
After 4 years and no claims your deductable is 0!
I started out with the highest deductable for the best rate ($) hoping I would not have any claims (best and lowest insurance rate).
Your premium does not change and you save a BUNDLE.

I have mine with state farm. I was fishing in Laffitte, La and my starter went out. I had to get towed. It cost $150.00. Took my reciept to my agent. He wrote me a check right there in his office. However< I have been with them for over 20 years.
I have always used State Farm, excellent people to deal with. Aaron Franklin in Chattanooga, used to be Ed Sorric but he retired, I have had it with them since 1977.
