My boat is making a peeping noise and I dont know why.It is holdig good water pressure and i mix the oil my self any thoughts?

My old crate and it's components have moaned, groaned, whistled, grumbled, roared, grinded, creaked, sputtered, spit, smoked, popped, wheezed, crackled, purred, coughed, whirred, beeped, screamed, laughed and cried, but never "peeped".

It might help to post the year/make/hp of the engine. Also, whether the beep is constant or pauses in between and if it starts beeping immediately when you start it or after it has run for awhile.

HLS, I think he is pretty sure it is a "peep" not a beep, coming from the boat itself, not the motor, but maybe I am reading this wrong.

The Peep or Beep coming from the side is probably coming from the shifter/throttle box mounted on the side. Most warning beepers for the engines were mounted there.
They are notorious for going off when unnecessary....and not going off in time to save the engine or not at all.

thats were its coming from put dont know why it is holding water pressure and i mix the oil my self so i dont know. and the make is a johnson gt 200 and sorry i cant spell to good.

The warning beeper I believe on the older Johnsons was for and overheating powerhead rather than water pressure. The pee hole is your pressure guage. It may be caused by thermostats not opening or morelikely a bad sensor. I`d check it out. If the block is too hot to lay your hand on for a few seconds...it`s too hot !

Could this be a VRO engine and if so, couldn't the beep be coming from the oil sensor if it hasn't been disconnected ?

More info on when the beeping occurs would be a big help in troubleshooting but it should be checked out to prevent major engine damage.

THE OIL RESERVOIR ON MOST INJECTION SYSTEMS HAVE A SENSOR AND WARNING HORN FOR LOW OIL LEVELS......I DIDN`T UNDO MINE SO I`M NOT SURE THE DIFFERENT THINGS NECESSARY BUT I`M SURE A JUMPER OR SOMETHING WAS DONE TO ACCOUNT FOR THE RESERVOIR SENSOR.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN MIXING FOR A WHILE I`D SAY IT`S SOMETHING ELSE BEEPING.....MAY JUST BE A BAD SENSOR FOR OVERHEAT.
