So our group fishes at night on Friday and Saturday. I'm starting to have concerns. Not any thing to do with the fisherman either. My concern is these idiots running their boats after dark that obviously don't have enough sense to operate a vessel in the daytime!! We've already had some close calls this year. One night, a boat ran towards us just as I made a cast and he veered so close my spinner bait went into the boat. I was afraid to thumb the spool because I didn't want to hurt somebody. He pulled my bait all the way to the spool knot and it flipped out of the boat. This past Saturday night, I was fishing a bank making short pitches and I was looking behind me at a pontoon coming down the bank. I had my stern light and navigation lights on and my console unit was turned on. (What did he think the big blue glowing rectangle was)? I even had a green fishing light illuminating the bank. This brilliant boat driver is headed for my motor so I turned my spot light on him and yelled. Instead of turning out to the channel, he turns right!!! I'm 10-15 feet from the bank and he's going between us and someone in the back of the rig says "what the hell are you doing!?" He then slams the boat in reverse and the whole time I'm moving out trying to get the heck away from them. Instead he puts the motor back into forward gear and runs out the rest of the bank on plane. There was a shallow point that he's lucky he didn't bottom out on. I remember in the last few years, the big boats and recreational boats used to go away at dark. Now we go fish at night and we're hitting big wakes and trying to fish with big waves well after midnight!!! I started fishing at night to get away from all that and enjoy the actual peace and quiet. This pontoon is probably the same one that was parked on the ramp a 1:40 and taking forever to move out of the way. They also left the truck headlights on which is all our pet peeve. Never let your guard down even though its dark and late there are still plenty of morons out there at night!

all of which is why I prefer to fish on Friday nights, less BS!!!

gotta love the a-holes running with their docking lights on the whole time blinding everyone else.

... but it's fine for the bow hunters to run with all there multitude of lights on! And I mean run, not just while idling around the banks. They do this out in open water.
