Help! I am a big boat dumb a**! My boat pulls HARD to the right....I mean REALLY hard! Hydrolic steering a bit pricey att. How can I correct this?
I just bought the boat this past Tuesday (5/27/08) I am extremely pleased! ('90 Bumble Bee - 200 ProV....) Just a few kinks to work out.... and, how hard is it to change out a trim tab switch? This is a pretty good leap from a 14' - 50 horse Johnson!!!emoLaugh

Just above the prop you will see a small finned component secured by a bolt, that is the torque tab, loosen the bolt, shift the tab in either direction, tighten it and launch if the torque is worse move the tab in the opposite direction. (Baby steps)

The torque tab needs to be turned to the right if you are looking at the back of the boat. I had the same problem and the torque tab didnt help me so I installed an aftermarket tab ($20 @ Basspro) on the right side of the skeg. Now I can drive her wide open with two fingers. 1986 Procraft w/ GT 200.

Good question, My dad has an Aries and I have a Triton, they are the same year but mine steers a lot better. I have always wondered why, good luck with your problem!
