Boat Scumb

Whays the best for removing hardened boat scumb? Someone told me to use very fine sand paper? Thanks David

I`d try a solution of vinegar and warm water....can`t hurt as much as sandpaper !

dodge dealers have got this stuff called "total clean",works good,,if you get it off, wipe it down with "bass boat saver" to prevent it,,that's the best stuff iv'e used

I used "Goof Off". Put a little on a rag, wipes right off. It takes the wax with it though so you will have to re wax, but it sure cleaned my aluminum boat.

I Use Arm & Hammer Daily Shower Cleaner it works and a lot cheaper than buying hull cleaners

I've not tried it, but my wife uses Kaboom for the tub.

Just read an article in Trailer Boats Magazine, February issue, on this. They tested MaryKate On and Off and Slimy Grimy. They said the On & Off was really good but very toxic so caution has to be used. Slimy Grimy was not quite as good but still pretty good and biodegradeable and Eco Friendly. They also commented on another dozen or so products that work, depending on how much scum is built up. I have used the Meguiars products and would recommend those.

Works great! I have used it for a while now. Every time I put mine back in the garage, I wipe it down and she looks new every time I get it back out.
