Does anyone know of a business that will do alignments on single axle boat trailers? Trailer has totally eaten the inside two rows of tread off the trailer tires in probably less than 2000 miles.

Can answer here or PM here or phone 423-883-5918

Thanks, Labman

Despite what people will tell you, it won't last. If springs are good then maybe the trailer is a tad over loaded. I'd suggest an upgraded axle. 2 square 1/4 thick beam with 1750 # end units. We need to meet up one evening and let me take a look.

Dropped off in a hole once-knocked my trailer out of line, but didn't know it. Wore out the tires in just a few trips. Took it to an auto frame shop, they re-aligned it, no trouble since then-about 9 years. Of course, replace the tires when worn, but not more than just normal wear and tear.

My tandem axle Stratos trailer does the same thing. But only on the back axle. Wears the inside like crazy on both sides. Front axle is fine. Well, it's not actually an axle. Doesn't have an axle that goes from on side to the other. Everything just fastens to the inner fender well. Crazy!!!!!

Byrd Alignment just off Rossville Blvd on E 35th Street did one for me years ago.. Supposedly they are the best in town for frame and axle alignment.

Rick, Your is a torsion axle. My sprung axle on my Stratos does the same thing. Its a running gear location. The axle could have been a couple of inches further back to stop that.

Ya'll do what you want but trailer axles are not car axles. Ive seen them manufactured and seen the nightmare if one is heated or pulled back in place, then fail.... 20 years on the job and I highly recommend replacement.

Thanks Billy, I am going to try your first suggestion from a couple weeks ago, and try some radial tires. I kinda agree about the alignment thing being questionable. I really don't think the boat/mtr are overweight. Alum deepvee with a 60 yamaha, can't weigh much over 1300#. Thanks for your help everyone.

Billy, whay do u think my best option is for fixing mine? also, could more or less air pressure slow down the wear of the tires until i can get repaired?

I keep 5 pounds over in mine. I also rotate every year when I service my trailer here at the shop. It's not bad but if never watched, it can go bad.
