Sunday morning one of my fine fishing rods met a not-so-early demise. Just about 80 or 100 yards below the Dam, a client got hung while we were drifting the current. He grabbed the line (wrong thing to do) ... the line spooling off reel started to cut his hand and he let go ... with BOTH hands! emoBang

Under tension of being hung on the bottom, the rod shot out across the water like a bullet. I hit a waypoint pretty quick. There was a lot of line out (hook hung on bottom) and if I'd wanted to take the time, I might have been able to drag it up with a crank bait. But I wanted to keep them fishing.

It was a fairly expensive All Pro rod, el cheapo reel... the most distinctive feature will be the white duct tape wrap used to secure reel to rod.

If anyone snags it, I wouldn't mind having it back. Regardless, whoever drags it up... ENJOY! emoThumbsup emoBigsmile emoBeer

Not to hijack but something similar happened to me the other day... I had my daughter and one of her friends with me... we had been fishing for a while and out of the corner of my eye I saw something large flying through the air and heard a big splash... I turned and looked and my daughters friend had somehow loosened the reel seat and cast my reel into the lake. She was almost in tears ... We were able to retrieve it because the bail had closed and we used the line to pull it back up.

it needed a rinsing off anyway. Maybe you will be able to retrieve yours as well since you marked the spot...

Feel your pain buddy, lost a pair of costas yesterday inside Goosepond!

Ouch! That likely cost much more than my rod/reel.

And nope... wasn't braid line, 10# mono.
