I'm no sales person for sure but I'm curious about who uses quality sunglasses on the water vs. who uses $3 dollar general glasses. I have been wearing Costa's for 3 years now and love them! I love the company, the quality, and their over all goal to make every day activities easier due to having the proper eye protection. I have a set of fantails with 400G blue mirrored glass lenses, as well as a pair of blackfin bl10 dark black lenses with the 580G lenses. Many of you might have no clue what I'm talking about but I do honestly suggest you look in to an investment in a quality pair of sunglasses. I am a life time Costa customer, how about you? Is any one else realizing the quality sunglasses can make a huge difference on the water, as well as on your eyes. If anyone has questions about Costa's or just wants to argue about how their Oakleys are soooo much better I'd love to talk with you. I had to learn all about Costa's product line at a previous job so feel free to hit me with questions.

I have 2 pairs of Rayban polarized glasses, one amber lense and one gray, I have Raybans because they are prescription glasses. I have been looking into Costas but cannot find a place to get prescription glasses. If you know a place let me know.

You can order prescription Costa's through Costa to my knowledge you can order them by telling them your prescribed lenses. As for fishing the blue/green mirror is said to be the best for fishing. I can honestly pull into a 5-10 foot slight and see rather clearly due to the Costa's amazing polorization. The one tip I have more than anything is buy glass lenses not plastic. Yes plastic doesn't shatter, but glass is allot more clear as well as the fact that glass doesn't scratch up like plastic

I have been using Rayban glasses for fishing since my dad indoctrinated me into the brand as a young lad. He would always tell me about how air force pilots used them due to their ability to cut glare. I would be willing to try a pair of Costa's but my Raybans keep going and going!

Ive always had Oakleys and prefer them to Costas just based on the way they look. Im not a huge fan of the mirror lenses or the bigger square glasses. Also I like amber lenses better and they seem to be hard to find in Costas? They are awesome glasses though and everyone should have one pair of nice glasses. Its amazing how much clearer you can see into the water. I think that it is really just a personal choice between Costas, Oakleys, and Ray Bans. All are great glasses.

Haha I have been told about raybans being worn by pilots as well! I'm not trying to hate on anyone's choice of sunglasses at all but raybans have began to go down hill. As the economy gets worse and worse companies often sacrifice quality to save money. But my main reason I'm not an oakley fan is for two reasons, one being they don't offer glass lenses as much as Costa's as well as the glass with polorization which is major on the water. The second being they have a cookie cutter fit in my mind, once again that's my opinion I feel like they don't fit like a glove, they are too wide in certain area's, they are bulky in area's, etc. But some people love oakleys for their fit. I have owned oakleys and like the looks of some but before you drop $200 on a pair of oakleys with glass lenses and polarized look into some Costa's with the 400G lenses. I just recently received a pair of the new 580G lenses and love them as well. All so I learned amber is bet for driving conditions while mirrored is best on the water, especially the blueish green mirror. But I do recomend anyone who has interest in them to talk to me I can point you in the right way, or try my best. Their is a set in the classified "everything else" section if anyone has an itching to try a pair used before investing in a new pair. Once again not trying to rain on anyone's parade just giving my 2 cents.

Haha yes I had pair of oakleys for sale and I ended up trading them on a pair of Costa's. Pretty good trade in my eyes! Rollcast someone let you borrow a pair you'd be convinced! It is one of those things that's well worth investment!

No but the Costa's in classified are nice I looked at them yesterday and the guy is willing to go down on his price a little.

I have Wiley X's and have not had any issues. I went to several different places and tried on several different pairs from many different manufacturers. The Wiley X's had more stylish options that fit my face better than the other brands I tried.

I feel naked if my costa's aren't on my face when I am on the water... One of the best investments that you can make if you are on the water regularly!

Their customer service isn't the best but they make nice sunglasses and they are what I wear. Cant say that I have ever seen the bottom in 10ft with a pair but then again if I can see the bottom in more than a couple feet its to clear for me.

Jacrow101, they are out of my budget- living on retirement income. Still, If I had the $$$$, I wouldn't buy them.

FWIW, the Mrs. liked the sign in a gift shop- Retirement: twice the husband at half the income.

$5 berkleys from the wally world fishing section is hard to beat. There not much on the bragging board compared to the 3 digit high end jobs. But they serve there purpose and give you more money in your pocket to go fishing.

I bought a pair once of subscription expensive glasses and they are now being worn by the fishes. ;) I came to the conclusion I am not a good person for expensive glasses since I have a tendency to drop them, knock them off or some how find them in the water. I came to the conclusion since I have regular glasses I wear to buy a pair of those gosh awful looking Wally world glasses you see older people use that goes over their normal glasses. That was about 15 years ago. Been using them ever since. I am not going to win any fashion statement but they work. Keeps the wind out of my eyes, the glare off the water and I can see down into the water when site fishing. Best of all they only cost about $10 bucks so if I drop them in the water or break them I am not upset for the week. emoBigsmile Jmax

Another product is suggest for anyone with nice glasses is Cablz they sell them at academy and they are a wire retainer (croakie) for your glasses but they don't lay on your back like the original style do. Personally I find them 10 times more comfertable than the regular style. They run $10 generally. And if you ever get a chance to go to the virgil isles grab your Costa's the water is unbelievably gorgeous. I was looking off the side of our snorkeling boat and could see the bottom our guide told us we where sitting in 100+ ft deep
