Who knows which kind of light makes the best running light to mount on your boat for running at night when fishing.
I am over the hand held spot light and would like to know where I can buy a light so when I run I am not in danger of what I can't see. I would like smaller and lots of range. I am not sure how it would be rated as far as watts ect. or where I can get one. emoIdea

Golight makes a pretty good spotlight that mounts in front where the nav light is. Its also remote controlled but its $200+. I used to have one. Those lights people have mounted below the TM work good to.

Thanks, I actually have one of those lights and I am not sure why I bought it and paid that much money for it. It seems like it would be great for a yacht or something big. Anyway I know I am ready to ditch the rechargeable that works fine when they are new but can leave you at the mercy of the GPS and then there is the corded spot light----- ugh no! emoCrazy

If you`re just looking for buoys.... the go lites work pretty good especially if your partner works the control. I`ve got the wired suction cup/screw down mount and the speed of the control is almost too fast to get exactly where you want it.
The one thing I`ve learned over the years is you definitly want the lite mounted below the rub rail. Anything above takes away your nite vision. And the closer to the surface of the water the easier it is t0 see debris in your path . It takes some adjusting to get it just right and the wide angle driving lites help locate the buoys . If you can get it right and keep the same plane angle they work good mounted to the Trolling motor.
They make a remote control lite that`s smaller than the golite...about the size of a softball that might work on the troller....my golite is too big really.

Go down and talk to Glenn Gamble. He sells and instals headlights. I dont know the brand or the wattage but I know that they are the same lights use as airplane landing lights. It will light a buoy up a 1/2 mile down the river. 622-5450 is his number.
