Bow fish finder hookup

How do I get power to my bow fish finder? There is a fuse on the bow control panel, can I wire it in there or do I have to go all the way to the battery? Can someone tell me what is typical?

I would run at least your hot straight to the battery and you can ground anywhere if you have a wire close by. Use the fuse that came with your unit.

I have a fuse panel under the console and that's where I ran my power from when I installed mine.

Started to get into this project the other day and was really dreading running power all the way to the stern. Realized I have a cigarette lighter in the bow control panel so I picked up a 12 volt adapter for $3.00 and wired it up. Tested it yesterday and it works great. Everything coming off my crank battery is fuse protected plus the adapter has a fuse so I think I'll be ok. Probably could have even cut up an old car charger and done it for free, but 3 bucks wasn't bad and it saved me a TON of time and effort
