There is not a week goes by I am not contacted by someone who was either broke in or had someone living by them get broke into. :( Just more recently there seems to be a rash of folks that are having things outside their home taken. Mowers, bikes, yard equipment, weed eaters, and other easy to take small items. Some have had their cars broke into and had items removed. I have mentioned this before but not recently. You need to always try and be aware of what is showing in you car. Do not leave items out in plan view that can easily be grabbed and taken, such as a Tom Tom, phone or GPS. Always set your car alarm if you have one even if it is in your own driveway. emoRolleyes The same is true with your yard. Try and put up all yard equipment, out of site is the best but at least up against the home or under the carport or in the garage. Even at the gas pumps, think about what is there, how many times have you seen a person leave a car door or window open with a purse in plan view and then leave to go pay for the gas? emoEek Be aware of what is around you and don't invite yourself to be a victim.

I have been to a couple more homes recently where they did not have an alarm in use and they were broke into. Two homes in two different places had the screens of there patio cut and then the thief(s) broke in through the back door. TVs, electronics, jewelry, money, games and small high end items are still the favorite of them. Easy to pawn and easy to carry. Also recently for those of you who do building some of our builders have had their tools stolen from homes they were working on where they left the tools in the home locked up. Where the home was not complete but the doors and windows were so they left their stuff locked up in them. Then when they came back the next day the home had been broke into and their stuff was gone. emoMad

In the cases of out buildings and garages we can secure them but in the case of carports and open yards there is very little that can be done. There is an item you can buy if you want that we call a "drive way alert". It shoots a beam from one place to another. I have seen folks cover areas where people were coming into their yards with these devices. If the beam is broken it will set off an alarm in the home. The down side of these are deer and dogs will set them off too. But they will help.

If anyone has any questions about alarm systems, installation or monitoring do not hesitate to call me. If anyone wants an install or monitoring please give us a chance to quote it. If you have a system we can often take it over. I have been getting a lot of ADT and ADS take overs lately. emoThumbsup For phone monitoring we will only charge $15 a month for our CFF members, their family and friends. If you have no phone we can install a cell unit and for CFF members that monitoring is $25 a month. If I can help in any way just call or PM me on here. emoPolice Jmax
