Got up and went yesterday morning for a few hours before the race started. The day started out quiet chilly with a temp of 44 but the wind stayed calm for the 1st couple of hours. Started catching fish right off the bat. Boy are those lil fellers fun to catch. Wish my 2 nieces could have gone yesterday but both of them had school. It seems they are just now getting ready to load up in the back of the sloughs if the water temp would ever get up there around 70 and stay there. The warmest I had yesterday was around 66. Anyhow, I ended up cleaning 52 bluegill and shellcrackers and thought I might share with the CFF the beginning, middle and ending to a wonderful day on the lake.

Thats a good looking plate there TNDOE. I wonder why you didn't wait until me and JSV were able to eat with you. As it stands right now you look to be very impressive going into the cracker fest this month. Are you coming to guntersville this weekend? Call mewhen you get a chance. see ya! swamp donkey

Maybe saturday afternoon after CFF5 or when I get off from work. I'm probably going to work 3rd friday night and hopefully fish CFF5. Depends on weather also. I probably threw back 20-30 yesterday. Only had 4 shellcracker, the rest were bluegills.

Thats what I'm talking about, that 3rd pic spoke volumes to me. I think it was RSimms that once said " if it aint fried, it aint fish", got that right.

wow, that's quite a mess of fish to clean but well worth the eating. what did ya catch them on and what area(s) did ya fish? how deep were they? sorry to bombard ya with so many questions, just curious.

Yea TT, I agree,...we need to all go over to Tndoe's next time she goes bream fishing and eat at her place. MMMmmmMMMmmm GOOD!emoTongue Jmax

TnDoe, something was missing though. Please dont tell me you chased that wonderful fish down with dang old tea.

Actually they were chased down with a good glass of ice cold aqua. I'm saving the CB's for CFF5!!!! Boy were they good. I put 4 bags of fillets in the freezer and fried up 20 fillets. They were awesome even for breakfast this morning.

I caught them on crickets in about 3-5 ft of water back in an ole secret slough on the chick. JSV and myself pulled 200+ one morning from there last year and cleaned all of them. I told him then that was the last time I let him count how many we had. We cleaned fish for over 3 hrs that day and many many CB's to get us through that mess. That probably sounds greedy keeping that many but I can guarantee none went to waste.
