A group of us will been going to Bristol for the first time next week, any advice would be helpful. We will be camping at the Red Barn Campground across from the track. I have been to Dega and Daytona, and I hope the atomsphere at Bristol will be just as crazy! emoToast emoVomit We will be heading up there on Thursday morning and coming back on Sunday... I can't wait... I am pumped. I just found out that Jamey Johnson will be preforming at the pre-race concert too.... HELLZ JEAH!!! emoWorthy

what type of advice are you looking for? I take exit 69 to get there, which is the same exit number I take to get to Five Flags in Pensacola but it's off a different interstate. Things happen fast, really too fast and you'll ave to really pay attention, to see any action. At 'dega, the crowd points and you have plenty of time to see the action (wreck). You did mention atmosphere concerns, you won't be disappointed in the folks, that attend Bristol. My favorite is Charlotte, by far. I hope that one day, Atlanta will be able to capture some of the magic but I normally leave disappointed. My disclaimer: I don't drink or party any more and haven't in a long time, so I may not give you the best advice, even though, I've been face down in the mud, more times than I care to admit.

Rent radios at the tract and listen to MRN while watching the race. They will let you know where and when the wrecks are.

I've been many times. Have fun and the only advice that I have is if your walking through campsite and someone offers you some homemade wine, just keep on walking,,,, or maybe I mean stop and have some,,,, or wait a minute, crap. I can't remember.... oh well.. seriously you will definitely have fun....

Not to rain on your parade...I've been to Dega/Atlanta/Daytona....Indy, more times than I can count. Been to Bristol one time. I would rather go to Cleveland and watch the mud slingers. CAUTION-CAUTION-CAUTION. But the folks that like Bristol....LOVES Bristol.

And niteowl is right. If your offered a little apple-pie in a jar......go for it. Peach too.

Thanks for the info guys! I can't wait... the countdown has begun! I will definitely take a swig or two, of the corn squeezin', if it's being passed around!

I have been to the night race and had a great time.Like mentioned above rent radios so you can keep up with whats going on,because once they drop the green you will not be able to hear anything. If you dont get the radios make sure you bring earplugs. The first time i went there i didnt have any earplugs,i didnt think it was possible for it to be that load, but i couldnt hear the guy next to me screaming at me while they were racing.and the fumes get pretty bad in there also.

You will need a really good set of ear plugs. That is the loudest place I have ever been. The noise will rattle your teeth. You will have a great time. There is not a bad seat in the place.

Bob and I will be there but we are driving over on Saturday morning. Last year was my very first nascar race and let me say this "IT WAS AWESOME" emoToast GO MATT KENSETH "17" emoWorthy

My first Bristol race was several years ago and Kyle Busch dominated most of the race until a caution came out with around 20 laps to go,after they went back racing Carl Edwards got him bad loose and up out of the groove.Kyle tried his best to get back to him but couldnt until after the checkerd flag come out.Kyle was mad and ran into Edwards after the race was over and Edwards chased him back down and turned him around. That place went crazy when Edwards spun him out,i dont think there was to many Busch fans there.I was pulling for Harvick and he came on strong those last 20 laps and finished around 4th or 5th.Those last 100 laps really get wild at Bristol.I hope Harvick can get the win this year he needs one bad,but i look for Kyle to win it.He is fired up after last week race.lol
