My better half watergirl, had been sick all week and didn't want to chance it by fishing with me. Day 1 on chick was a grind. I started shallow but but went deep after the first hour. I only managed 2 keepers on a carolina rig and shakey head. The one spot I wanted to fish I couldn't due to a boat camped out. Missed several, and had a non keeper.
Day 2, was a little better. I decided to run all the way up to fish below dam. I started with a spoon and lost it after a few cast, picked up a shaky head and caught my largest bass of the day, which was a little over 4lbs. Bass started schooling so I started catching them on a fluke. I limited on that. I caught a few more spots on a ned rig and decided to keep one for big spot and threw back a 1lb 15oz LM.
My spot only weighed 1.21 so I finished with 12.44 on day 2, had 16.92 for 2 days and finished in 7th place. If i would have kept LM, i would have been 5th but that's the gamble you take. Congrats to Mark and Ray on the win, they were consistent on both days!
