i saw buck chasing doe on wednsday the 12th. anybody else seeing any chasing. i thought it seemed kinda early to be seeing this.

same thing happened last year around here,by muzzle loader i had missed the first rut by a couple weeks,i killed a spike and a really nice 8 last year but i never seen the first chase during muzzle loader

Killed my best buck Columbus day weekend a few years ago, lip curling and grunting behind a doe.

Same thing for me, This weekend I had about a dozen scapes show up. I also saw a little buck that appeared to have his nose to the ground and frantically sniffing out a trail. Thought it looked like rutting activity, but blew it off until I read this thread.

Has anybody else seen early rutting activity? I have my vacation shceduled the week of and after Thanksgiving to hit the rut. Thats when I saw the most chasing last year.

i hunted same place sunday morn. saw 11 does but no bucks in tail. so might have been a fluke. i'm not sure. only been hunting for three years and never really saw any high intensity rut activity. i've killed 2 nice 8 pointers and neither one of em had swollen necks or was chasing so i hope maybe this year there will be something to see.

a guy i work with said that he read an article that this year because of weather and other conditions. that this is the year to kill a big buck. i've already passed on a spike and a small 8 this year so i hope the action continues.
