Buck Island Marina

Hey guys. My last river trip in my jet boat I jumped of about a 2 foot dropoff and my motor jet intake landed on a rock (there was only an inch or 2 of water where I landed... emoRolleyes ). It hit so hard on the motor (E-tec 75 hp w/outboard jet drive) that grease came out the fittings, hydrolic fluid out of the tilt/trim stuff, and dented the intake grate pretty good. Unfortunately I didn't escape that easily and the motor quite running right and wouldn't get on plane or rev up. I think I warped the main shaft that comes down to the jet and at higher rpm's it is binding and bogging it down. Anyway I have heard good things about Bucks Island Marina in Gadsten, AL and am planning to take it there this week.

Have any of you guys heard of it and have any comments on how good or bad work they do????? Fortunately all I will have to pay is my $500 deductable as I have insurance on that boat thank goodness. I have a feeling it is going to be WAYYY more than $500 as I think I might have also cracked something that the exhaust comes down to the lower unit in as it got a lot noisier too... emoBang It stinks that I damaged the motor BUT it was a good day fishing and I landed a pretty big one before I tore my boat up (no damage going upstream, all damage at one BAD shoal coming down).

Yea, I keep a few in there and even more in my center console lake boat. I have 4 rods for bottom fishing or downlining/ 2 rods for pitching shad/ 2-3 rods with lures on/ 4 rods for pulling flatlines or planer boards.

Is there a real good marina in the Chattanooga area that has a certified E-tec mechanic??? Cheez has got me nervous and I want everything fixed right. If any of you guys know a decent place that does good work and is dependable please give me the phone # and I will call and see if they can work on an E-tec jetdrive. Thanks.

RB there is an E-Tec dealer in Dalton. Sorry but the name escapes me right now and I don't know about their service. They also sell Skeeter boats so maybe that will help you find them.
