After not getting to fish with my Granddaughter all summer, we shouldn't have missed Church, but since time with her is so rare, we went looking for mats to fish a frog on but they were mostly gone, we found patchy grass and lots of feeding fish in 3 different areas in about 4 ft. water. they would come up schooling when I set my hydro wave correctly and they were within 8 foot of my boat and we got so frustrated because there were at least 35-40 decent size bass down to 12" ers and we threw everything we could , and they would only hit the real thing. finally after 10 or so times of boiling the water next to the boat, i finally caught a 2lb'er on a swimbait and Sydney hooked a very pretty perch, then nothing for a couple of hours and 3 stops later and i finally caught 1- 4 lb'er on a crankbait then it was over for hours, so we hit 4 or 5 places on the way home, we quit due to frustration!
still a great day, spent with her, she never quit and was constantly grabbing my casting rods and throwing my buzzbaits, frogs, and others like a pro with no backlashes! not bad for an 11 year old who I had shown how to throw a baitcaster a couple of months ago for 10 minutes in the back yard! she learns quick!
