Thursday our last day of practice the bite was still slow and other than a few fish here and there we still didn't have a solid game plan. The only thing we had figured out was fishing grass edges adjacent to rock in 10ft of water. We found a cove just south of dayton the last hour of practice thursday with an active mat. We got two very good bites flipping but didn't land a fish in there. With that Friday morning we decided to start there first thing. The fog was pretty thick friday morning and we didn't see the sun until 1030am. We flipped down this grass line with no luck. With the cloud cover we backed off and threw 10in worms to the outer edge in 8-10ft. We pick up our first keeper a 5lber and went on to fill our limit by 10am. We had about 12-13lbs and went looking for big fish the rest of the day. We ran down to sale creek to a small mat. I picked up the frog while my partner flipped. On my 5-6 cast the 7lber crushed the frog. That put us around 19-20lbs. We ended up culling once more towards the end of the day in the pocket we started in. We weighed in the heaviest bag at 21+lbs and leading big bass at 7.21lbs. We were sitting in 2nd overall. Day 2 was a different story with the torrential down pour saturday. Our fish in the pocket didn't want to cooperate. We had another small school of fish located on the backside of the main river on an isolated grass mat. The fish bit funny all day and we could only muster up four fish. We finished third overall. Best baits were 11in c-mac and 10in ole monster worms in redbug rigged with 1/8oz to 3/16oz wts; 3/8oz blk/blu and green pumpkin jigs; blk/yellow snag proof frog.

You did well. emoWorthy

I am with everyone else about the shoes. Do those glow in the dark? emoBigsmile Jmax

Those shoes are comfy! My buddy got a pair after I told him how breathable they were. Cheaper than those Zekos! Try them out...they're at shoe carnival for like $45bucks!
