Can you catch a Marlin with your bare hands??

I had read about that in Florida Sportsman Mag. That's interesting isn't it? I don't know if I would have done it. Oops, different guys. I read that there was a marlin in the shallows for some reason and the guy caught the fish and had some pics and then let it go. Diving onto a marlin just doesn't look sane to me. Thanks for the link!

One of the sail fish has been clocked at 68 miles an hour. Tuna 50 knots an hour. Fish are fast and those speeds are enough two cause you enough damage to put you within an inch of your life even without a pointy nose. A great white does not need to bite to kill because it weighs like a sub-compact and can ram you at 30 mph easy. That sailfish was just playing with that guy that jumped in the water.

This video is probably a fake. To position a camera man in the water, next to the marlin, while the marlin is on the surface, and when this guy is in position to jump out of a chopper on it. Highly unlikely. I've caught more than a dozen blue marlin and wired many more than that. Even after fighting for hours, small marlin have pulled many a wire man out of the boat and in the water. I doubt anyone could hold on to one that wasn't tired and still green. Just my $.02
