There are none. You will have to go to a bigger city like Nashville. Chattanooga is a joke right now. However, they’re improving, but I’d go drive to a bigger city if your insurance will cover it. Try Saint Thomas west in Nashville. They are the best within couple hundred miles.

I use Alan Atchley at Memorial I had bad valve, blockage and aneurysm. Dr Zellner did the surgery. I am still here after 2 years this past January so in my opinion these two are great but I am no expert

Stubbifield in Chattanooga. thinks he works at Memorial and Erlanger. Googled it and he's working out of Erlanger now. Second to none in my opinion.

This is not True. The Heart Institute at Memorial is as good as it gets. Back in October of '13 I walked into the ER thinking I just had a stomach issue. Within minutes I was in an operating room having the first of two stints put in. I would not hesitate to recommend The Chattanooga Heart Institute. Dr. Vannay Madan is my doctor. Not only did he save my life, but he has me in great shape to be around for many more years. Who want to have a doctor two hours away?

Well going back to the original post, He is asking about the BEST. It is actual FACT that Nashville and Vanderbilt are the BEST places to go for heart treatment. I can’t tell you how many cases they send from Chattanooga to Vanderbilt and Nashville because the Chattanooga doctors/offices can’t handle a case or know what to do. to illustrate, if you want the best “fishing” boat you go to a ranger boat dealer not to bass pro shops to get a nitro or tracker boat. Again, they are both good but one is way better!

Dr. Ledford is a joke. When I got to Vanderbilt couple of years ago they pretty much told me he shouldn’t of done this and that etc etc...

I’m glad however you have had a good experience but my family could of sued him but we decided not too on good faith. I can tell you this though. They didn’t even send us a bill. They knew they screwed up. And I have heard other horror stories also.

One story I heard while I was there is they screwed up in Chattanooga and had to fly the patient to Nashville I think it was to fix the botched job.

PSA I have been to both Nashville and Vanderbilt saint xxxxx hospitals.

DR.LEDFORD AT THE CHATTANOOGA HEART INSTITUTE

Dr. Alan Atchley at Memorial and his PA, Josh Black, are excellent. From experience I highly recommend him. Check his credentials and professional and patient ratings.

Memorial has lots of good heart doctors. My wife has a really good one Dr. William Ollerich. Vanderbilt has the best of the best but the ones at Memorial are really fine doctors too.

The good doctor (Robert L. Huang) at the Chattanooga Heart Institute may have saved my life. Last May, the week before holiday I was out fishing early one morning. Experienced slight discomfort (not pain) in chest. I thought it was gas. It went away and I stayed and fished most of the day. Long story short, this occurred three (3) more times. I awoke one more at 200am with this same discomfort and decided to go to ER. Heart Attack, most likely several. Stent placed in 90% blocked artery. Went home next day. Dr. James Marcum is my cardiologist. Listen to your body, take care.

Furthermore, regardless of your opinion, the important thing is to seek medical attention asap. For years I have carried aspirins, especially went deer hunting and fishing. Now, I carry both aspirin and nitroglycerin tabs.
