Great tournament! Our day was filled with good and bad moments. The fog was one of the bad moments but livened up meeting Taz, Tyler and other as we signed in. Pulled number 8 token putting us in first group and letting us get out early for a planned run for Possum Creek.(good moment) Eased out from Harrison Bay to the main channel, opened the EFI to 5200 and started purring our way upriver. At river mile 485 felt and heard a thudemoDoh , engine over revved and boat came to a complete stop, over filling the transom to mid boat as Danny and I sprinted to the front of the boat emoRain to keep from being soaked with cold lake water. Seems we busted the lower unitemoBawl , I can't wait to see the bill for this one.... Good moment we only burned three gallons of gas for the tournament, bad moment, lower unit new ($4500.00).

Revised game plan as we trolled over to the nuclear plant rip-rap, getting hastily out of the fog shrouded channel, as boats were flying by. New game plan: point the boat south and troll as fast as we could, try to catch some fish. We caught seven fish (two keepers)around the power plant with a 17 inch spot and our big fish a 3.7 largemouth. Per new plan, crossed the channel at the rip-rap point below the plant to the bluff on the east shore(narrowest part of the lake) caught third keeper off lower bluff several fish off docks, including a catfish caught on a tangled float and fishing line. As we continued south we hooked up on two drum one at seventeen pounds and another that was over twenty( it would not fit in my over sized net)

We fished a lot of sterile water, but we kept our heads down and just fished. I made more casts in one daythen I have on any other two days. Another interesting aspect is that when you troll down the bank in the same direction for 7.5 hours, the foot on the floor gets a little tired. As we approached Harrison Bay we found banks with some good fish on them, caught 4 keepers on two sections and culled some smaller fish.(good moment) Another problem that we encountered through out the day was that when we found a bank with fish, we could not turn a round and fish it again due to time constraints.(bad moment)

All in all, we covered 7 miles on a trolling motor, caught 20 bass with 8 keepers weighing 12 plus pounds, not quite enough to get in the money, but we were proud of them.
