What a day. I left the house around 3 o'clock and headed down to Chattanooga. I made it to exit 81 and turned south, starting my drive down. One hour later I had gone 5 miles, seems that TDOT was doing some bridge work and had traffic down to one lane on the north and south bound lanes. I changed over to hwy 11 and again traffic was bumper to bumper and moving at a snails pace, but at least it was moving. Finally made it to Chattanooga, picked up Nickajackangler, ran by Wendy's for a quick grilled chicken, ran to Wolftever, dropped the boat in,started boat on first crank, ran hard to CFP. We made the cut off and thought we were ready to go catch some fish.

Blast off started and as we neared our designated release I tried to get the boat started. It wouldn't. Finally fired and our number was announced. I idled through the no wake zone and kicked it. The boat feel on it's face and died. Spent the next thirty or so minutes idling trying to get the boat up on plane . The motor finally built up enough rpm and we headed out to the river channel. Ran to our first spot, Nickajack caught a dink on a buzzbait and there were no more. Started to move to our second spot, again boat would idle but would not build rpm and go to plane. We wound up on idle to our next spot. We started fishingthe ledge and Nickajack misses a good fish on a blade. The fish hit the bait and came about half way back to the boat then justopened it's mouth and swam away.We fished another mile or so anddid not get bit until we reached the end of thatdrop off. Nickajack caught the first keeper on a ten inch worm and that was it for another hour.

We started idling toward CFP thinking it was going to be a long way back at slow speed. I finally managed to get the boat up and on plane and we ran back toward Dallas Bay. We made one more stop near the weigh-in ramp and Nickajack caught one more keeper on a big worm.

Nickajack caught three fish, (two small keepers) I broke a livewell switch, boat motor, and fell hard releasing our two fish after weigh in(large bruise on right upper thigh, cut on knee), caught no fish, but it was a good night with some good friends.
