For a revolver I would go with the Smith & Wesson airlight 38, If you like auto pistols I have 2 Sig Sauer P238's that are really nice 380 pistols

Say what? Take her and let her TRY THEM ON! emoPoke That way she'll know. I say the S&W lites also. They even coome in PINK!

Yeah, what buzz said. Let her try 'em on. Bet she will like the Airweights or similar.

Good Luck

You can start her out with 38's and as she gets more comfortable move up to 357's. All those light weight 38's are pretty heavy on recoil, thats why I thought the sp 101 would work well.

Airlights suck when it comes to recoil. Find a stainless J frame .38 and put a laser grip on it. Hell its probably going into her purse anyways. What ever revolver you get take it up to Craig @ Montlake Classic Clays. He and work on the action and make it MUCH BETTER than stock. He's done a bunch of triggers for me.

S&W Model 638...

I have been looking for a carry for the wife too. I have looked at several light weight pistols for ease of carry but when it comes to recoil I dont think she will notice anything if she HAS to use it.

Here are the Sig Sauer 380s I bought for me and my wife, but i still carry my Kimber unless I have to put one in my pocket.

One thing to remember is that it is a revolver. You should be able to pull the trigger and it go bang. I will agree that the "ultralights" seem to have a lot of recoil. My wife shot the airweight and did not like it, which is why she chose the LC9. One thing about the revolver is that you should be able to get a good price on one. While I am not a Taurus Semi-Auto fan, you can get a 38 revolver from CDNN for $289 or a Taurus CIA .357 hammerless for $299.
