A North Georgia friend of mine asked me about crappie in Carter Lake. I crappie fished down there many years ago... caught tons of small fish on all the pine tree laydowns. But that's been a LONG time ago.

Anybody know anything specific about what crappie are doing in Carter right now?

Oops.... this should be in General Forum. Sorry.

Richard, there's a guide on the forum that fishes Carters Lake, Triton-LB , names Louie
Barton. I bet he could help you out.

Carters is an excellent panfish lake. In the spring small twisters, tubes, ect. can be fished around the standing timber to catch crappie, bream, yellow bass, and spots. Carters is the lake that I take my kids to fun fish on. I hope this helps.

I don't know much about the crappie fishing. I know years ago my dad crappie fished all the time especially at night. I've heard alot of people say that the striper hurt the crappie fishing on Carters.

Carters does offer great Bluegill/Bream fishing, that I do.... I love it in late summer. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
